Corinne joined the Foundation for Newark’s Future under the My Very Own Library literacy project as Project Manager in September of 2013.
Corinne’s commitment towards education equality began after college as an AmeriCorps VISTA with New Jersey After 3 (NJA3), a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding learning time opportunities for New Jersey’s youth.
During her year of service Corinne most notably developed a 13-week service learning curriculum that served up to 3,000 students throughout New Jersey, helped administer the organization’s literacy initiatives, Enterprise Road to Literacy and My Very Own Library, and played a leading role in NJA3′s communication efforts through the creation and delivery of a weekly e-newsletter, and through the expansion of the organization’s social media reach.
This school year Corinne looks forward to igniting the literacy spirit in Newark through her work with the My Very Own Library project. My Very Own Library encourages and supports students’ love of reading by providing them the opportunity to choose brand new, free books to build their own home libraries.
Corinne graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Political Science.
